Process 201 or P201 for short, is a design focused website and magazine that is currently in development. It focuses on the various design and creative communities and features step by step case studies by some of the industry’s best talents. Two cover designs and artworks were created for the direction of P201.
The golden stroke was created from a single metal ball stock image. Using the texture of the metal, the image was stretched and manipulated to give the illusion of liquidity. Many different rocks, metals and objects had to be experimented to figure out which style worked best.
Rough textures are applied to the start and ending knots to create the paint smear effect and color overlays are applied to produce the yellow and golden paint look.
We wanted the identity to be simple and easily recognizable, therefore decided to abbreviate and print the name in Helvetica Neue Bold. This font will be consistent across the entire website and magazine with strict considerations to space and layout.
Every cover has been designed with consistency to ensure strong brand recognition. Each magazine cover will be matte laminated with the logo foil embossed. Each cover will also feature a bold and singular background artwork.
